Or as deep as the winter can really get here in the south...
Being the photographer in the family means you are first choice when anyone needs pictures for anything. The tasks are not always fun or exciting. This is the exception.
Last night the low dipped down into the single digits here in Charlotte. It is the coldest I have ever actually experienced. But I have learned that my excitement coupled with the proper outfit will let me stay out shooting much longer than I expected.
The rain barrel has been up to it's old tricks again. As the predicted low for tomorrow is 9 F, I believe these won't be the last you'll see of the ice.
I sat down and started typing this before I had even thought about what I did last year. As soon as I opened up Picassa and started scrolling through the thousands of photos I took, I realized what a big mistake that was.
At midnight on new years 2012/2013 I was tromping through snow covered fields under a full moon taking photos. This year? I sat in front of my laptop sniffling and sneezing.
Now looking at everything I did, or at least everything I photographed, I realize how high I have set the bar for myself.
But since I've already pledged to go to Italy this year, I have already secured a job as the dark room assistant at UNCC, and I have already beaten a cold, I think I'll do just fine.
That being said, I'm going to ramble on through 2013. You are free to join if you want.
