I recently spent a wonderful week at the beach, including the fourth of July. I decided the end of the island would be a great place to catch some fireworks, and the pyromaniacs did not disappoint on both sides of the water did not disappoint.
While I was enjoying the display set off on the end of the island, and across the water way, my spidey senses told me something was afoot. And after stopping for some Italian ice, and to watch the boats speed down the Intracoastal Waterway, I heard the panicked scream of firetrucks.
I was not alone in following them to their source. Neighbors and other vacationers swarmed around.
I try not to gossip, but it sounded like some people set off fireworks inside their house, a less than optimal launching point. Luckily the fire department arrived in a jiffy, and the house and inhabitants were safe, aside from their pride.
Be safe with those fireworks everyone.
